BBQ at the Hymas' Home

Right before leaving for Colorado, my mom whipped up an AMAZING meal. She fixed BBQ with all the fixings. YUM! She is so thoughtful.

Do you see Savannah with the twins in the bottom middle picture? It was so cute. She went into the family room and started talking with them and singing songs and reading them a story - basically entertaining them. Kimmy and Abby couldn't take their eyes off her. She was so fascinating. Thanks Savannah!

Bear Lake June 2010

What a wonderful multi-family trip. We went to Bear Lake with David's brother Stephen and his family. David's sister Becky was even able to join us for a few days. It was relaxing and fun to hang out with family. We played games like Dominion, Power Grid, Dominion, and "Kill the Bunnies." (Ok it is not really called that - - that is how David and Sten adapted the game called Killer Bunnies. It was in honor of all the bunnies back in Colorado. You'll have to read more when I post about the bunnies.

It was our first big trip with the girls. It was kind of a trial run as far as "How would they do in the car?" It is a 2 hour drive up to Bear Lake from Layton, Utah. The girls did beautifully! They slept most of the way. :)

One of my favorite things during the trip was the picture in the bottom left corner. See how the girls are arching their backs. We had gone outside to put some things in the car and when we returned this is how they were - - looking at us like "Where have you guys been?" It was pretty funny.

1st Time Swimming!

During our stay at Bear Lake, we took the girls swimming for the 1st time. They actually seemed to like it. It was kind of like they were thinking, "Hey, this is like a HUGE tub for me to play in."

I remember summer swimming time. We would swim for hours and then only come out because our mom was insistent. I think it was my mother's intention to get us really tired so we couldn't get into too much trouble when we got back home. We were all pretty subdued.

The same with the girls. They were pretty tuckered out. Even though they didn't do any "real swimming." I think there is something about the water.

Kimmy especially got into the whole kicking thing. You should see her with baths now. She hits the water and kick, kick, kick - - she splashes water all over Mommy. :)

4 mo Pictures

My sister, Christina, took these pictures. My mother wanted pictures of the grandkids with the backdrop of flowers. I think they turned out well! Way to go Christina!

First Taste of Bananas . . . YUCK!

My mom always says how hard it was to feed me solid foods. I just wanted the bottle. I think at least one of my daughters inherited that "Are you seriously trying to feed me that?!" attitude. I claim it is the texture and understand her pain. I still have a hard time taking liquid medicine!

Here is a little video of Kimmy and Abby eating their first bites of banana. Kimmy . . . . well . . . see for yourself. (Watch for the shiver . . . it is my favorite part)

Can anyone help?

Ok. So they have changed the formatting of blogging a bit since I created my last blog. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the "Cutest Blog" ad to go into the upper left corner like my other blog. I don't really want it sitting on top of every post entry. Anyone have ideas?

Thanks!

"Come to Mommy!"

Kimmy learned how to "Come to Mommy" and reach out to take my hands.
